Activist wants seat on San Anselmo council
Staff Report
San Anselmo attorney Ford Greene said he'll seek appointment to the Town
Council seat being vacated by Ian Roth, who defeated Greene last November.
Roth last week announced he was leaving the council to take the finance
director's job in neighboring Fairfax.
Greene, who failed in his bid for election by 300 votes, declared late
Tuesday at a council meeting he would apply for appointment to the vacant
seat.
Roth, 40, will begin his new job in Fairfax Oct. 9. His seat on the council
expires November 2009.
Greene, 52, has battled with the town over a large sign on the side of
his building. He eventually settled a lawsuit with the town after saying
his civil rights had been violated when town officials pulled down the sign
from his Sir Francis Drake Boulevard offices.
The application deadline is noon Oct. 9. Applications are available at
Town Hall at 525 San Anselmo Ave., the police station at 400 Red Hill Ave.
or at www.townofsananselmo.org.
