ROSS VALLEY VOTE
'Blatant fraud'
exposed
Ford Greene has exposed the blatant fraud of
Supervisor Hal Brown's
farce of an "election" for the Ross Valley flood district. The election
did not use a real ballot; it was an end-around attempt to sneak a tax
in by calling it a fee. The process of signing the ballot in order to
validate the ballot left much to be desired. The wishes of the voters
were denied, as Greene showed.
No matter how Brown objects and spins, the special
election that wasn't
really an election was crammed down the throat of the voters. It is
very suspicious in its methodology and results. Brown's comment that
"anyone can sue for anything" attempts two trivialize a serious
subject, and calls into question his integrity and oath of office to
represent the voters.
Brown and the Board of Supervisors can do the
right thing - throw out
the results and hold an election that is fair, legal and transparent,
with the public allowed to participate in the process.
Or they can continue the arrogance of claiming
that the election was
somehow fair and valid. If that is the case, I would suggest that the
Board of Supervisors, and particularly Brown, should be held
responsible for their part in this fiasco, including the possibility of
a recall.
Greene would be a much more effective
representative for the Ross Valley on the Board of Supervisors.
