ROSS VALLEY VOTE

In defense of Ford Greene

For Tom McInerney (Readers' Forum, July 25, "Greene is guilty of hypocrisy") to dismiss so scornfully Ford Greene exercising his right to seek to block a corrupt election is shameful.

The same applies to Frank Malin's cynical remark (Saturday Soapbox, July 14, "Flood fee vote defended") about the gravely flawed Ross Valley flood election (with its astonishing 21 percent ballot rejection rate) when he wrote, "Let's not fixate on questionable technicalities."

It's those niggling little "technicalities" written into our Constitution and laws that preserve our right to honest elections - and should kill this one.

In what other field of human endeavor would management find a 21 percent failure rate an acceptable outcome? After all, it is Hal Brown, a politician, who is the driving force for accepting this 21 percent failure rate, and who apparently is wearing blinders to prevent his seeing the conflicts of interest in the way the election was handled.

Those wishing to make contributions to support a lawsuit to overturn the election should send contributions to Marin United Taxpayers Association at 819 A St. No. 21, San Rafael 94901.
